The configuration of the elements of a drawing is the most significant factor in recognition. Above are my line-drawings of a woman and a VW with the configuration of elements messed-up and then configured to depict a woman and a VW. When the configuration of the elements matches something like what we might find in the world, we get positive recognition rather than a rough guess.
